notes:
- for my in-show thoughts on stuff,
- the new oneida record is awesome. to see my thoughts on it in
dusted click
here.
- captain beefheart was recorded somewhere in new york in 1978 shortly after the release of
Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller). the magic band and the captain are all in fine form. the album was just given a full issue (as opposed to the limited rhino handmade edition) on rhino.
- the title of the spunk record means "the very top of a blue-painted flagpole" in norweigian. spunk=fe-mail plus 2 other women. a very nice wash of electronics.
-homosexuals reissue=best reissue of 2004.
-I can never get enough of henry flynt no matter how much I try. this track was a veritable hoe-down of almost bluegrass fiddle work with a backing band. yeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-haw!
