notes:

-filling in for carolyn today since I couldn't do my regular show. and it was a solid 2 hours of radio. one of the highlights was a call from miss julia factorial, freshly back from chicago.

-guido diero was the first real accordion virtuoso of the 20th century. he was a huge vaudeville star and composed a whole bunch of pieces when he wasn't secretly marrying mae west. while not original recordings (the songs are played on this cd by henry doktorski), the songs are all fairly awesome, though I imagine listening to the full 2 disk set of this will melt your brain.

-the dipers are somehow related to the a frames and therefore rock. I love the guitar tone on that song.

-I've just started listening more to the aphex twin 26 mixes for cash and have realized that they're really good.

-it's amazing to me that the epileptics and the flux of pink indians are essentially the same band. though they existed nearly simultaneously in 1981, the epileptics did pounding uk punk while the flux of pink indians are post-punk to the core.
